Role: Technical Services Engineer
Location: East Midlands Airport

Hours: Mon - Fri - Office Hours - 40 Hours a week
Role Summary: Provide Part “M” / “CAMO” Airworthiness Support Function within the Technical Services Department. Support the CAMO Manager to maintain control of all applicable airworthiness requirements and maintain all data required to demonstrate compliance. Support the Accountable Manger to investigate Occurrence reports submitted to the Safety Management System. Provide technical support to resolve aircraft technical defects, with a focus on Avionics systems and Electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Work autonomously as part of a team or as directed to support the aircraft fleet according to daily requirements. Maintain awareness of current fleet defect status, base maintenance progress, project progression, and prioritise the following activities as required to maintain safe operation.
- Support Approved Maintenance Programme Development by providing sound technical support and investigation of maintenance defects, and suggesting effective preventative maintenance actions for AMP inclusion.
- Undertake reviews of aircraft transferring aircraft into and out of West Atlantic fleet Maintenance Programmes to ensure compliance with all applicable airworthiness requirements, and define any bridging maintenance requirements.
- Perform Airworthiness Directive and non-mandatory SB/SL assessment and manage embodiment onto the aircraft. Generate AD/SB compliance reports periodically or as required to support Airworthiness Reviews (ARCs).
- Provide technical details to assist in all aspects of modifications and configuration changes carried out on fleet aircraft, and subsequent management of the aircraft AMP and reports to demonstrate compliance with all resulting changes.
- Perform technical authoring of maintenance instructions (work cards) as required to comply with all airworthiness requirements and provide technical support to maintenance planning department.
- Liaison with relevant aircraft manufacturers to gain and implement approved repair schemes and/or assist with problematical defect diagnosis.
- Support Line Maintenance Control department with recommended troubleshooting actions for line and base maintenance defects. Interpret test results and flight data to determine fault root cause.
- Liaison with component or accessory vendors to assist with problems encountered, including fault tracing.
- Management of the approved Part Number and Interchangeability database in accordance with the approved maintenance data.
- Work with colleges across Europe to achieve wider group level projects to dynamically reposition aircraft between AOCs to meet contract requirements.
- Manage Subcontractor organisations to maintain active airworthiness control of aircraft for which certain airworthiness activities are Subcontracted.
- Investigation of Occurrence Reports in support of the Safety Management System. As part of the CAMO team balance, this role will have a focus on Avionics systems, Electrical systems, defect control, aircraft software and modification projects.
- Other reasonable airworthiness activities and tasks as directed by the Technical Manager or Part M Manager.
Academic/Educational Requirements
- Educated to Degree Level, B2 License or equivalent.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 7 years Aviation Engineering experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of Part M/CAMO and Part 145, and UK National Airworthiness Requirements.
- B737CL/NG (or similar Boeing products) and/or ATR 42/72.: 2 years (preferred)
- Trax EMRO maintenance software: 2 years (preferred)
- B2 licensed engineer or CAMO: 2 years (preferred)
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Effective Information Technology skills.
- Possess confident and effective communication skills in English (both written & verbal).
- Ability to make good judgements based on the needs of the company operation, in a very fluid, fast changing environment.
- Proven problem solving, planning & organisational skills.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Previous experience in a Continuing Airworthiness Management organization.
- Previous experience as B2 licensed engineer or managing continued airworthiness of aircraft avionics in a CAMO environment.
- Experience on B737CL/NG (or similar Boeing products) and/or ATR 42/72.
- Experience with Trax EMRO maintenance software desirable, or similar software.
- Able to demonstrate experience performing a majority or all of the Responsibilities described above.
