Role: Mechanic

Location: London Gatwick

Hours: 40hours per week,  5,5,4 shift pattern

Salary: £36,660

 

Job Purpose

Reporting to and working with the leading mechanic and certifier on the zone/aircraft as allocated.

Job Accountabilities

 

  • Complete routine and non-routine maintenance tasks as directed using the latest approved documentation and procedures.
  • Observe and adhere to the company Tooling Policy at all times.
  • Maintain awareness and ensure best practice is observed for Health and Safety and Human Factors.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed to the required standards and in line with the MOE.
  • Ensure that they keep their personal work area, hangar bays and facility clean and tidy at all times.
  • Notify the company of any significant findings as soon as possible.
  • Raise a safety report on identifying any hazard or the following of an incident.
  • Hold a Storm Mechanic Authorisation.
  • Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by Storm

Operating Environment

The role is based in the Line Station environment dependent of where the role is required. The normal working week does not exceed 40 hours based on shifts relevant to the operation. There may be occasions due to operational reasons where it is necessary to work outside of these hours.

 

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

Qualification & Education:

  • A recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or similar.

 

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proven work history in a line maintenance environment
  • Experienced in completing wiring modifications primarily on the Airbus family of aircraft but Boeing aircraft would also be an asset.

Training & Knowledge:

  • You will need to demonstrate your technical experience as well as leadership behaviours, be able to work on your own initiative and make timely decisions. Have the ability to interpret technical publications and make fact based decisions. You need to have a flexible approach, show initiative, and deliver to tight deadlines.#
  • Have a working knowledge of Aircraft Maintenance Production Planning; 
  • High standard of English language (written and oral)
  • High standard of computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office Suite
