Role: Operations Control Centre Officer

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Work Pattern: Shift Working - including nights and weekends

Location:  East Midlands Airport

Salary:   £25,451 plus £2500 shift allowance

 

Role Summary

  • Responsible for carrying out all daily operational activities and ensuring consistent, concise information flow with customers and group airline departments.
  • Ensure that all flights are ready for on-time dispatch and conform to Company and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate the short-term crewing of all operated flights in accordance with company policy and relevant legislation to achieve a safe and efficient flying programme.
  • Effectively communicate with other OCC staff and update the OCC Shift Supervisor on any ongoing crewing related issues and proposed solutions.
  • Carry out the following for ad-hoc flights and disrupted schedules:
  • Use all resources available to ensure all scheduled flights in the operational period are correctly crewed.
  • Ensure revised crew schedules are compliant for the operational period.
  • Ensure all travel and accommodation arrangements are made, changed or cancelled as required.
  • Comprehensively hand over ongoing work and upcoming risks, challenges and opportunities to the relief shift with the aim of maintaining a robust flying schedule with respect to flight crew.
  • Account for and track non-flying personnel on West Atlantic aircraft.
  • Manage crew training requirements within the period of responsibility ensuring that crew do not operate with a critical training check expired and that any disrupted training is reported to the OCC Supervisor and the relevant Training Department.
  • Support/assist with crew requirements e.g. accommodation and transportation as appropriate. Respond to aircrew enquiries. Update daily the flight crew management system.
  • Carry out all departmental administration to the required standards, timelines and regulations.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all sensitive information and data received in the OCC is maintained at all times in accordance with good practice and legislation.
  • Maintain professional standards and behaviours in accordance with good practice and company policy.
  • Assist the OCC Supervisor in the management of the flight schedule with Flight Watch and Flight Planning duties as required.

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent

Required Skills/Experience/knowledge:

  • Minimum 2 years recent Aviation Operations experience, preferably in an airlines operational control or crew planning environment
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of FDP Limitations
  • Proven ability to work under pressure
  • Use of aviation specific computer software including flight planning and ops control
  • Effective and proven positive interpersonal skills and a demonstrable ability to work within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal)
  • Proven problem solving & Planning skills
  • Attention to detail and numeracy skills.
