Role:Detailed Sheet Metal Worker

A Detailed Sheet Metal Worker (SMW) will fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal products, reporting to and working with the leading mechanic/ certifier as allocated.
Role:
In order tomanufacture/ repairs, the sheet metal workers must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, and maintenance manuals for aircraft. TheSMWwill ensure that work is carried out to Aerospace standards and customer specifications. Working with a range of materials and sheet metal tools and equipment, SMW undertake a range of sheet metal tasks e.g. using a guillotine, fly press, rollers, shrinkers/stretchers, rubber presses and drills, and other tasks including:
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Be able to work with fine tolerances
Be able to use various sheet metal machinery
Be able to work with a variety of materials and thickness
The ability to drive efficiency whilst producing high quality work
To ensure work is carried out in accordance with work card instructions and associated drawings and specifications.
Manufacture/ repair skill setand with 3year’s experience in role.
Complete routine and non-routine maintenance tasks as directed using the latest approved documentation and procedures.
Observe and adhere to the company Tooling Policy at all times ensuring any tooling or equipment used is duly cleaned and returned to stores.
Ensure all paperwork is completed in accordance with Company procedures and in line with the Storm MOE/ POE.
Ensure that you keep your personal work area and the facility clean, tidy and FOD free at all times.
Ensures that all unused items are returned to stores with the correct label attached.
Hold a Storm Mechanic Authorisation.
Complete duties in accordance with NAA regulations, Company Procedures and Company Safety Management System in place.
Raise a safety report on identifying any hazard or the following of an incident.
Maintain awareness and ensure best practises are observed for Health and Safety and Human Factors. Notify the company of any hazards/ risks associated with the work allocated or the environment the work is being carried out as soon as possible.
Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by the business.
Additional Requirements:
A recognised apprenticeship within the aerospace/ engineering industry or similar.
Have extensive “hands on engineering” working experience
Good standard of written/ spoken English including the ability to interact at a technical level
Good Computer literacy with experience and knowledge of Microsoft suite
