Role: Workshop Supervisor

Location: Manchester

Salary:  Upon application

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7am - 4pm, Friday 7am - 1pm

Oversee the daily activities of inspection teams and mechanics providing guidance and support as needed.  Plan and assign teams by redirecting resources to meet service requirements and prioritised maintenance work and recommend improvement initiatives to achieve established Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)

Job Accountabilities:

  • Supervision of Inspection Teams and Mechanics

  • Ensuring product quality

  • Coordinating resources

  • Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health & Safety obligations

  • Coordinating with engineering, material planning and quality control to ensure efficient production planning to meet turn-around-time target

  • Assign work to appropriately qualified and authorised technicians taking Human Factors into consideration

  • Ensure aviation safety standards are met and compliance with quality requirements (Part-145)

  • Support the Operations Manager with continuous improvement programmes

  • Ensure that all inspectors are properly trained, qualified, and up to date with current regulations.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to inspection team members.

  • Accomplishment of such other tasks as may be reasonably requested.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Identify areas for improvement and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of all inspections.

  • Prepare detailed reports on inspection and audit highlighting any non-conformities and recommending corrective actions.

  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.

Liaison and Coordination:

  • Assessing and accepting work scope requests from customers and liaising with the Workshop Operations Manager prior to acceptance.

  • Ensuring failures to deliver/status reports are sent in a timely and proper manner to meet customer requirements

  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and customers.

  • Represent the organization during regulatory audits and inspections.

Safety Management

  • Promote and enforce a safety-first culture within the organization.

  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and ensure that corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
