Role: Operation Control Centre Shift Supervisor
Position Type: Full-Time - Shift Pattern (4on 5off 5on 4off 5on 5off)
Work Pattern Shift Working including weekends
Location: East Midlands Airport
Salary: £34,271 plus £2500 shift allowance
Role Summary
Responsible for overseeing a safe and efficient flying program and leading the OCC shift team to deliver excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Lead the shift team in their delivery of safe, efficient and on-time operations in the functions of Operations Dispatch, Short Term Crewing, and Crew Travel.
- Provide operational direction to Line Maintenance Control ensuring maintenance actions are tailored to meet the requirements of the customer with minimal disruption.
- Proactively manage resources in the operational period to achieve a safe, efficient and on-time operation.
- Maintain effective and timely communication with customers with regard to their operation at all times.
- Ensure a positive and effective communication flow between the OCC and internal/external agencies to achieve customer performance targets.
- Ensure OCC shift team carry out all departmental administration to the required standards, timelines and regulations.
- Act as the company representative out of hours to lead the initial response to any eventuality.
- Initiate the call out procedures in the event of an aircraft accident/incident in accordance with the WAUK/WAS Emergency Response Procedures.
- Host daily operational conference calls and meetings.
- Support the OCC Shift team in ensuring all flights are ready for on-time dispatch and conform to Company and legal requirements.
- Provide effective and timely feedback (including behaviour, punctuality and attendance) to the OCC management team to ensure all team members achieve their full potential.
- Support the OCC Management Team in the effective delivery of training and development for all OCC staff on their shift.
- Ensure confidentiality of all sensitive information and data received in the OCC is maintained at all times in accordance with good practice and legislation.
- Act as a role model in the OCC by maintaining professional standards and behaviours in accordance with good practice and company policy.
Academic/Educational Requirements
- Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent
Required Skills/Experience/knowledge:
- Minimum 2 years recent Aviation Operations experience
- Possess professional, friendly and customer-focused personality
- Sound knowledge and understanding of flight planning, FDP Limitations, Weather reports & NOTAM’s
- Proven ability to work under pressure
- Effective and proven positive interpersonal and supervisory skills
- Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal)
- Proven problem solving & organisational skills
- Proven leadership skills or positively identified leadership potential.
