We are currently looking for a dynamic and experience Head of Quality Assurance to join our clients team. If you are passionate about aviation, possess a wealth of technical expertise in the Part 145 Line or Base environment and have held a senior position within a Quality and Safety department of an airline or aviation Maintenance Repair Organisation (MRO) and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the opportunity for you.

 

Position:

 

As Head of Quality Assurance, you will be responsible for leading and managing the QA team to ensure the quality and reliability of our products/services. You will oversee the development and implementation of QA processes, strategies, and standards to meet the organisations quality objectives and customer satisfaction goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Leadership and strategy:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the aviation quality assurance function, aligning goals with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance with UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and other National Aviation Authorities (NAAs) published regulations.

  • Establish quality performance metrics, targets, and KPIs to monitor and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality Assurance Strategy

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust aviation-specific quality management system in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure effective documentation control, record keeping, and configuration management processes to maintain the integrity of quality records and compliance documentation.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:

  • Stay updatedon changes to allrelevant aviation regulations, standards, and directives, and ensure timely implementation of required updates to quality assurance processes and procedures.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, overseeing audits, inspections, and enquiries, and ensuring timely responses and corrective actions as needed.

  • Develop, implement, and manage the regulated Safety Management System.

Team Management and Development:

  • Lead and develop a team of QA professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

  • Define roles and responsibilities, establish clear performance expectations, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to support the professional growth and development of team members.

Auditing and Compliance Monitoring:

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal audits, inspections, and compliance assessments to verify adherence to quality standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate external audits by regulatory authorities, certification bodies, and customers, ensuring timely preparation, thorough responses, and effective corrective action implementation.

Continuous Improvement and Risk Management:

  • Analyse quality performance data, audit findings, and trend analysis to identify areas for improvement, root causes of issues, and opportunities for risk mitigation.

  • Lead or support quality improvement projects, initiatives, and risk management activities to enhance aviation safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate QA strategies, progress, and outcomes to senior management, teams, and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with management to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Provide regular updates, reports, and presentations on QA performance, trends, and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices including detailed in-depth knowledge of Part 145, Part M CAMO and Safety Management Systems.

  • Extensive experience in quality assurance, quality management, or regulatory compliance leadership roles.

  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations pertaining to international aviation regulations and standards.

  • Proven track record of developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality management systems.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities.
